THE FIGHTIN' SIDE OF ME

I was sitting at a stoplight the other night on my way home from work when a song came on the radio that I hadn’t heard in quite some time. It was one of those old songs that, you know, can somehow magically take you back to another place and another time for just that briefest of moments. Anyway, it was an old Merle Haggard song entitled, "The Fightin' Side of Me." and as I listened to it I remembered exactly why it was that it had been one of my favorite songs at a time when I was much younger and as I listened I realized that it is still one of my favorite songs today. And I thought about how relevant the lyrics still seem to be even today, especially when one considers what the Liberal Democrats, our stellar our president, acting in concert with our state-run media, are all saying about our country on pretty much of a daily basis. Also as I listened, it struck me how this simple little song would make the perfect anthem to be sung by those who are currently working so hard to bring about a much needed conservative revolution, come this November, because it seemed to me that the words of the song cut to the very core of what it is that’s being perpetrated against the very foundations of the country. The feelings it stirred in me were the very same ones that I remember feeling when I heard the song for the very first time, because I love my country, to the point where I proudly spent 24 years of my life in the service of her Navy. And I think it sums up pretty well the way many of us still feel about our country and about the attempts made by Barry “Almighty” and the rest of the "scumbag" Democrats who constantly work to demean it and all that it stands for. It’s a song that not only tells it like it is, but how it should be. That our country, regardless of what Barry “Almighty” and the Democrats may say or do, is special and possesses a uniqueness found nowhere else on the planet, and we should be proud to called Americans, not shy away from it. We must fight contemptible individuals who continually go about the slandering of our country 24/7 and who should be seen for exactly what they are, as being nothing more than anti-Freedom and anti-American zealots. Their behavior is to be considered as being nothing less than traitorous and they should be condemned at every opportunity. Because we do live in the greatest nation in the World and we must work to do all that we can to come together and unite in putting a stop to what is being done by those who are determined to destroy it. And to all those who insist on griping about this country, if you don’t love it, then just do us all a big favor and leave it. You are not needed here nor are you welcome here.

I have included the words here just in case there are those of you out there who are not familiar with it because either you don't listen to country music or because maybe it was just a little bit before your time.

I hear people talkin' bad,
About the way we have to live here in this country,
Harpin' on the wars we fight,
An' gripin' 'bout the way things oughta be.
An' I don't mind 'em switchin' sides,
An' standin' up for things they believe in.
When they're runnin' down my country, man,
They're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.

Yeah, walkin' on the fightin' side of me.
Runnin' down the way of life,
Our fightin' men have fought and died to keep.
If you don't love it, leave it:
Let this song I'm singin' be a warnin'.
If you're runnin' down my country, man,
You're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.

I read about some squirrely guy,
Who claims, he just don't believe in fightin'.
An' I wonder just how long,
The rest of us can count on bein' free.
They love our milk an' honey,
But they preach about some other way of livin'.
When they're runnin' down my country, hoss,
They're walkin' on the fightin' side of me.

NOVEMBER 2, 2010, A PIVOTAL ELECTION AT A CRITICAL TIME

Well here we are with just a little over 8 months to go, and with all this talk about the election of 2010 becoming another 1994, I can't help but ask the question, "as conservatives, might we be getting just a bit ahead of ourselves and maybe more than just a little over confident in our expectations of achieving a substantial victory?" After all, 8 months is a very long time in politics and I would just like to offer a word of caution here, in that we should never, and I do mean never, underestimate the ignorance, sometimes willful, sometimes not, of the American people. An ignorance that is so very often exploited by our state controlled news media to manipulate public opinion on all issues ranging from taxes to the ongoing efforts by Barry and the Democrats to, quite literally, seize complete control of our healthcare system. Because if the American people have consistently shown themselves to be anything, it's that they have an extremely short memory and are, more often than not, truly a very fickle bunch, who are at times never quite sure of what it is that they really want at any given time. Today we have our state controlled media expending a great deal of effort to successfully disguise, and to the greatest extent possible guarantee that the public remains oblivious regarding the covert attempts by the Democrats to push through their Socialist agenda. At the same time this obvious extension of the Democrats Party works to create an impression, or an illusion, of what it is the people should want or need that when added to the nonsensical drivel drummed into their heads from day one in our public school system which is then further compounded by the propaganda drilled into them by leftist professors at any of our institutions of higher learning, all which in the end creates a net result that makes me willing to bet that the outcome of this upcoming election remains pretty much of a crap shoot. Over the course of the last 40 years or so I have become less and less confident in the ability of the American people to do what is truly the right thing for our country. For far too many, deciding whom to vote for has become much less about the country and much more about them and what they can now perceive as being able to get for "FREE" or at the very least, by expending the least amount of energy as possible. Over time they seem to have gotten much more comfortable with the idea of forcing those who comprise the evil "rich" to pick up the tab for everything, because after all, they're "rich", they can afford it. Somehow though, I think if the shoe were on the other foot and they were to find themselves among those evil "rich", their opinion might be just a tad bit different. And, if they would only apply the most miniscule amount of commonsense and logic to this parasitic philosophy of theirs, they would plainly see that there are simply not enough "rich" to cover the costs of Barry's plans even if the government was to take every dollar the "rich" make. But commonsense and logic are both something that are in very short supply these days especially when dealing in the area of politics and the mentality of a substantial portion of the American electorate.
I think it very safe to say that the Republican Party has done, and continues to do, very little to further the perception that it is "The Party" of fiscal constraint. Because of a debilitating fear of being identified as the "Party of NO", Republicans have been, except for on that rare occasion, far too willing to go along with the outrageous spending being perpetrated by Barry and the Democrats and is seen as being guilty of even creating some of their own. Many examples can be sited where they have been much too accommodating in their assisting the Democrats in the advancement of a very liberal agenda. Republicans have done far less than an admirable job in the creating of the necessary impression and in making the voting public sufficiently aware of the very stark differences that should exist between them and the Democrat Party. As we all remember, the Republicans swept into power in 1994 and initially set about doing some very good things such as Welfare Reform. But it wasn't all that long before they seemed to lose their way, becoming more interested in remaining in power than doing the people's business as we expected them to do. The mission got corrupted and in some ways they allowed themselves to be manipulated by the opposition party to the point where they were seen as being less as a conservative party and more as a slightly less liberal version of the Democrat Party. Of primary concern to me as a conservative Republican is the somewhat less than stellar leadership that we currently have in both Houses of Congress. Granted, of late, the House is somewhat better in that area than is the Senate, but we still have men who seem far too willing to compromise on issues as well as on principle when, as conservatives, they should be expected to stand firm and oppose any sort of compromise. But again, there is that constant fear of being called "obstructionist" or the "Party of No" that seems to make them fearful and seems to have them walking on eggshells. There have been times, and there will continue to be times, when it will be necessary, even critical, to say no and to mean no. Now granted, more will be needed than to simply say no, competing ideas will be needed to be put forth and ways of getting those ideas out to the public may need to be created, because the state run media will not be willing to assist them anytime soon in that endeavor.
Recruiting, recruiting, recruiting. For the Republican Party these are the three most important words regarding this next election. This is where I feel let down considerably by the RNC as well as the NRSC and NRCC. The most visible example of my disappointment and frustration, is right here in Florida and is the one I am exposed to on nearly a daily basis. We have a true conservative running against a near conservative for the Senate seat vacated by Mel Martinez. Marco Rubio is running against Charlie Crist with the winner going on to be the Republican candidate for that Senate seat. And which candidate is receiving Party support? Yep, that would be Charlie Crist the near conservative. While I am less knowledgeable about the race in Indiana, you cannot tell convince me that as a Party we couldn't find a better candidate than Dan Coats to run for the Senate seat that is presently held by Evan Bayh. We need strong candidates who are committed to averting the coming train wreck that this present administration and Congress has us headed for, and at ramming speed no less. Pretty words read from a teleprompter ain't gonna cut it, that's what we've got now and it is proving to be lethal to our country on so many different levels. We don't have time to dally around, we really don't. The pending election is one that can be truly considered to be one that is pivotal, the potential consequences of which being of a sufficient magnitude that should voters take the position of encouraging a further straying to the left, this country will be in for some pretty dark days ahead. We have already experienced a brief sample of that having occurred over the course of the last year regarding what it is that the Democrats, if allowed to continue with their possessing of substantial Congressional majorities and the White House, would like to accomplish. The only way that the Republican Party will be able to put itself into the position where it can gain the necessary numbers to stop the current madness, is to field viable candidates who not only are willing to talk the talk but to also walk the walk. Providing lip service will accomplish nothing, just as will the supporting of candidates who are willing to do nothing more than to provide that lip service that does the country no good whatsoever. The Republican Party, and this is just my opinion, I don't think has fully come to recognize the fact that they have a huge credibility problem with those members of the electorate who regard themselves as being conservative. And I'm not sure what they can do to bring about the necessary change in that regard, nor am I sure of the best way to go about making my point. I could say I'll just stay home and sit this election out like many did last year. But look at the frightening situation that that has brought about. So I don't see that as being a realistic option for me. You would think that the Party as a whole, starting with the RNC would look back and see what it was that brought them into power in 1994 and that look at what it was that took them out of power in 2006. I mean, for crying out load, this isn't rocket science. I'm not sure what to chalk it up to, stubbornness, stupidity or something as basic as the need to stay in office by any means necessary and no matter at what cost to the country.
As I have stated before, I am not now, nor will I be for any future election, a supporter of any third party candidates running in any election. However, as we remain focused on getting as many Democrats as possible defeated, we must also be very wary of those candidates who may be under the mistaken impression that simply because they happen to have a (R) after their name that it's a given that they will garner the necessary support from conservatives in their bid for public office. Our best opportunity to accomplish our goal of fielding the most conservative candidates available will come through the ensuring of a very aggressive primary process. We should always support the most conservative candidates in any of the open races but as well we should work hard to encourage primary contests whenever and wherever possible in the hopes of unseating entrenched incumbents who insist on straying from truly conservative principles. It is during these primary contests that we will need to focus our efforts in striving to elect the "most" conservative candidate possible, which may or may not necessarily be the candidate running under the Republican banner. But if we fail in that attempt, when it comes to the general election we "must" unite behind the Republican candidate for the very simple reason that we simply cannot afford to splinter and therefore offer up the opportunity for the Democrat candidate to simply coast to an easy victory. I'm afraid I learned that lesson the hard way in 1992. There are, at the present time, some rumblings regarding the fielding of third party candidates, possibly representing the Tea Party movement, a movement that clearly demonstrates the anger that is present regarding the way business in currently being conducted in Washington. While I support many of the ideas coming from these people, and feel their anger is justified, I would not support any attempts on their part to field third party candidates. However, for anyone to simply disregard or ignore that anger is to do so at their own peril. And while that goes for Democrats and Republicans alike, it would seem that it is the Republican Party that would stand to gain the most from choosing to stand for those core conservative principles supported by those who make up the Tea Party. Unfortunately, they also would have the most to lose by not listening to these folks and possibly handicapping themselves in trying to carryout a much needed revival in bringing about a stop to this radical shift leftward. A shift that Barry and the Democrats are busy trying to perpetuate and shove down the throats of the American people.
Just a word regarding the recent CPAC gathering. There were many good speeches given, but my concern is that if all that enthusiasm and apparent knowledge of what is needed to not only to fix the Party, but the country as well, never leaves the room what good is it? It may make for good TV, but if it is seen as nothing more than rhetoric spoken before a friendly audience just to get them all worked up, than it amounts to nothing more than a waste time with nothing being accomplished as far as in getting the Republicans to where it is that they need to be as a Party in order to save our country from destruction at the hands of the Democrats. And with Ron Paul winning the organization's straw poll and Mitt Romney, who has foolishly decided to endorse McCain in his bid for re-election, coming in second, I fear we may be lacking the required seriousness which is critical in allowing us to succeed in our efforts to rescue our country by successfully wrestling control away from the Madman in the Oval Office, and his minions in Congress. Time is running out for us to get our act together, and as men much wiser than myself have stated and on any number of occasions, the only poll that counts is the one on election day. So we best get to work and not start counting our chickens before they're hatched.

BARRY’S NIGHTMARE FOR “MAINSTREET” or THE OBAMANIZING OF AMERICA

Barry continues to strive in his effort to successfully complete the creation of his ultimate nightmare scenario that he envisions as being his one surefire way to get us to where it is he wishes to take us as a country. That place where it is an all powerful government that is the sole entity responsible for all of the important decisions regarding the lives of the citizenry as well as what rights and privileges are to be possessed, and for how long, by each and every individual. In order for him to be successful in his endeavor, it is paramount for him to destroy our successful free market Capitalist system, by throwing our financial system into chaos and having the government acquire a controlling interest in any and all facets of our society. Everything that the American people depend on to live out their lives must come under the tight control of Barry’s government.
In his effort to further his corrupt political agenda, Barry "Almighty" continues to talk out of both sides of his mouth on all matters ranging from healthcare "reform”, taxes on the middleclass, unemployment and his nonsensical rhetoric concerning "saved or created" jobs, his failed and bogus stimulus plan, combating, or rather not combating, terrorism and any number of other critical issues. As well, he's busy blaming Bush for deficits that Barry himself has created and continues his chastising the Republicans for being nothing more as obstructionists and the “Party of NO!" The Republican Party may be the only thing between Barry and the people since that it now appears that he's agnostic regarding tax hikes on the middle class and as he continues to have the Democrats marching forward in his attempt to shove his bogus healthcare "reform" down the throats of the American people. And regarding the coming healthcare reform gathering, I keep hearing some Republicans, the latest one being Jeb Bush, babbling on about the importance of maintaining a dialogue and a discussion regarding such an important issue as healthcare “reform.” Look, I like Jeb, but that's all nothing more than pure nonsense. Barry, Nancy and Harry are not the least bit interested in having a discussion in any way, shape, manner or form with Republicans on any topic. What they want is a complete Republican capitulation on all matters of importance. Republicans, all Republicans, need to stand firm on their demands for coming back to the table, that what is required is the going back to square one regarding any attempt at healthcare "reform." Doing anything other than that simply does not make any sense and will only succeed in opening the Republicans up to being used to shove through a version of healthcare reform that amounts to nothing more than the government acquisition of our complete healthcare system while allowing Barry to make the false claim that it is all a bipartisan accomplishment.
On the topic of taxes we need to beware, because the tax man cometh and he cometh for you and me. And he is coming courtesy of Barry "Almighty", yes the same Barry who promised us on any number of occasions that no one making less than $250,000 would see their taxes go up "NOT ONE DIME." You know, kinda like when George H.W. Bush said, "Read my lips, no new taxes!" Well Barry, at the risk of repeating myself, "YOU LIE," and “YOU LIE” often. Because this lie is turning out to be only one more on a very long list of many lies that have continually sprung forth from our “Supreme Leader” and aimed directly at the American people. So, you have to be asking yourself, is it now any wonder that a significant number of Americans are growing weary of him and his empty rhetoric? If you believe the polls, which would be reasonable given the evidence, many Americans are now very loudly proclaiming that they are opposed to the direction in which Barry desires to lead us to the point where only 44 percent of Americans say they would even vote for him. The fact is that somewhere along the way, you would think that the response of the American people regarding his policies, would be causing that little light bulb of reality to at least flicker in Barry’s mind. The fact that it hasn’t yet, and continues not to, is one of those things that make you want to go HMMMMMMMM. It would seem that Barry's pathetic and narcissistic need for power and complete control at all costs far outweighs any concern for the will of the people and is apparently running seriously amuck. His need for control runs so deep that he has now apparently made the decision, and very comfortably so, to simply "rule" by Executive Order. Whoa there Hoss, does anyone other than me have a problem with this? I'm sure his black constituents, most likely a very substantial portion of that 44 percent who say they would still vote for him, are just fine and dandy with the whole idea. But what about the rest of us who make up a rapidly shrinking portion of the population who still do actually work for a living and whose lives are not subsidized on a daily basis by costly, taxpayer funded entitlement programs.
There are times, and much more often now than in the past, when I find myself wondering in which direction it is that we as a people “really” would like our country to go. And I wonder whom it is that we should deem as being worthy of providing us with the necessary information on which we are to base the decisions that we need to be making regarding that direction. Are we to trust an obviously biased news media, corrupt unions or how about groups like ACORN or even the political parties? What has recently prompted me to ask that question is the fact that I recently saw in a Washington post/ABC News poll, I know, a very questionable source to say the least, that 80 percent of Americans oppose the recent Supreme Court decision essentially striking down McCain/Feingold. Is this really an accurate telling of what the American people actually think, or is it nothing more than propaganda by Democrats supported by their left leaning media allies in what is nothing more than an effort to make us think that that is the general consensus. Do Americans really believe that only unions and other leftist organizations should be allowed to advance their opinions at election time? Are liberals trying to convince us that 80 percent of the American people no longer are in favor of having freedom of speech? I guess another question might be, does that same 80 percent of Americans even understand what the Supreme Court decision involved? I would answer not if the only information they are receiving on the matter is coming from either the mainstream media or from the Democrats. However, if they do and this poll is anywhere near being accurate in its results, it then begs the question, have we as a nation lost our collective mind, or has it somehow been altered with "We the people" having been on the receiving end of some sort of collective frontal lobotomy. What the devil is going on here? It would seem that we are slowly allowing ourselves to be talked right out of the rights that we currently possess. Will we allow ourselves to be convinced that the government should be the sole proprietor as well as dispenser of those rights and should be responsible for the doling out of them to whomever it may deem as being worthy of possessing those rights? We seem to have forgotten from whom it is that we get our rights. Need I remind anyone, they come from God, they are not something to be dispensed from whomever it may be that is control of the government at the present time. When are we going to wake up, or do enough of us simply no longer care about the source of those freedoms that we so easily take for granted. Have enough us simply been bought off so that as long as the government is providing for us and requiring nothing return other than that we make sure to keep voting for those who make sure the government will continue the gravy train? A gravy train that now seems to consist of a sudden influx of supposed new “rights?” You know like the “right” to an abortion, the “right” to “free” healthcare, the “right” to a “free” college education, the “right” to own a home, even if you cannot afford it, and any number of other supposed “rights” that show up nowhere in our Constitution.
Every time I take a moment to seriously look at where we are as a nation, I get, quite literally, scared to death. I wonder if my daughter is going to end up being anything other than a slave to the government. Will she spend her entire adult life essentially being in bondage to a massive and out of control government bureaucracy, falling victim to Barry’s very dark and nightmarish future? Will she be able, or even permitted, to become all that she can be, limited only by her own desire and ambition? Or, will it be preordained regarding how it is that she can best serve the needs of the collective? Will it be dictated to her what she will do, where she can live, what she can drive and any number of other life altering decisions that should be made by her and not by some overpaid and under-worked government bureaucrat? The primary tool that is being very effectively utilized by Barry in order to bring his utopian nightmare to fruition, as previously mentioned, is his effort destroy our free market, Capitalist system. He means to accomplish this through the creating of a massive amount of debt, debt not inherited by him, that is simply incomprehensible. While he may make claims to the contrary, he cannot possibly think that his outrageous amount of spending can do anything other than to bring about a total economic and financial collapse in this country. And with that being said I cannot help but wonder if that is what his long term goal really is. To so overburden the system that it simply implodes, creating an economic cataclysm and forcing a substantial number of Americans into the dire situation of being forced to depend upon a government which is only too happy to step in and "take care" of them. I have this feeling, though I could be wrong, that somehow this is not really what the Founders had intended for us. As smart as they were though, I suppose even they had no idea that so many of us would eventually become so ambivalent toward the rights that were once considered as being bestowed upon us from our God. I suppose what worries me almost as much as the future prospects for my country both fiscally and economically is that once we allow ourselves to be talked out of our freedoms, we'll never be able to regain them. So not only will we be completely broke and with our economy lying in a smoldering ruin, we will essentially be completely destitute regarding the possessing of any freedoms whatsoever.
So where is it that we will choose to go from here? I'm not ready to support any kind of third party nonsense. While I am a strong supporter of the Tea Party movement, I simply do not feel that any of those advocating such a move toward a third party have the country's best interest at heart. A third party would only guarantee a train of never-ending Democrat victories. But neither am I a big fan of many of the “inside the beltway” Republicans who do not seem to be taking our grievances seriously. They insist on the supporting and promoting of candidates for the pending and all important midterm elections, who are shaky at best as far as possessing what can be called true conservative values. This coming election is nothing if not absolutely crucial for the future of our country, and the consequences of us making the wrong decision will be both far-reaching and inescapable. There is simply so much resting on the outcome of the November election that should we fail to at least slow down this rapid and momentous shift leftward that we are presently embarked upon, the end may very well be near. Barry and the Democrats have done nothing more than to continually lie to us about anything and everything, they are hoping that we remain oblivious to what it is they wish to bring about, or stupid enough to continue to believe their BS. If we're not extremely careful here we're going to end up being the perpetrators responsible for our own demise. I guess I don't understand why it is so difficult for so many to see what it is that we have been so blessed with by living in this country, and why nearly as many seem to be so determined to destroy it. Does what is being presented by Barry seem to be a so much more of viable alternative to that which we have been able to enjoy for the last 200+ years? Is it appealing to people to have the government literally in charge of everything in their lives from cradle to grave? And what really is to be gained from living under such a system? It hasn't seemed to produce very positive outcomes wherever it's been tried, and there are plenty of examples to look at. Examples the results of which have been rather dark and where literally millions of innocent people were required to be sacrificed in order to advance the utopian dream. Is it because of a warped mentality that considers that since it has never been tried here in America, all attempts have not been exhausted, and that if it can work anywhere it is here?
What Barry is proposing for us simply can't work! It's not designed to work, whether it’s here in America or anywhere else? It's a scam perpetuated by the unscrupulous and the elite among us. All that is required to advance their agenda is for them to effectively create the impression upon the simple minded and unwashed masses that it will work. I feel like shouting at the top of my lungs, "for god's sake people, wake up and look around you! Look at the places where this nonsense has been tried before! Look at he dismal outcomes, the resulting lives of the people forced to live under such a system and the millions who died! Look at what Barry's plan has brought about so far, double digit unemployment as well as just recently announced double digit inflation. Can anybody say, "Jimmy Carter?" But then again, it probably wouldn’t make much of a difference to those people who are the end result of an educational system that has pretty much dumbed them down to the point where the government nanny state looks pretty darn good. So are we destined to continue our march leftward, or will this coming election produce the necessary results and will those we hope to elect work for the people and not for themselves so that we will at least be able to slow things down. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if November 2, 2010 replaces December 21, 2012 as the day, at least as far as we are concerned, the World, as we know it, came to an end. Or, if it will prove to be a date that marks the rebirth of commonsense in government and the beginning the long process to un-Obamanize America.

BARRY “ALMIGHTY”, a.k.a., “THE PRINCE of DARKNESS”

The Prince of Darkness has descended upon us, and together with his many minions, now has total control over the direction in which our country is now headed. The question is, will we come to our senses in time to allow us to vanquish him and as many of his minions as possible before the damage done becomes irreparable. For those that are busy doing his bidding our first opportunity to rid ourselves of at least some of them will come as early as this November unfortunately regarding the Prince himself, our chance doesn’t come until 2012. With the damage that has already been done in just one short year, 2012 seems so far away, and concern regarding just how much more damage can be inflicted on our country between now and then is truly frightening. Unfortunately though, we will have to wait that long before being presented with our opportunity to move on. But in order for us to meet with any degree of success, it will require that we raise our numbers significantly and make or voices too loud to be ignored, not only by the Prince and his partners in crime, but by all those who form the opposition Party as well. For they all must be made to understand exactly what it is that “We the people” expect regarding the size, shape, scope and power that is to be possessed by our government. Because, while this Prince may have come to us preaching "Hope and Change" and espousing an exuberant feeling of "Yes we can", as we found out all too soon it was all nothing more than his sleazy way of convincing us to blindly place our trust in him. Trusting him just long enough to elect him as our leader. Once elected however, he made it crystal clear that he cared very little for our desires regarding what we expect from our government, he cared only about his desires to expand it into every facet of our lives. Therefore, it was only after that sad realization had taken place, that some of us snapped out of our stupor and saw that we had been made into victims of one of the greatest political con jobs in our history. Still, there remains many who simply refuse to accept the fact that they were made fools of by this man and many more that simply do not care who or what this man actually is or what he seeks to do. The fact that he made, and continues to make, many promises to improve their lot in life, even though it comes at the expense to others, and the fact that he is dark skinned like them, is enough to ensure that they will remain loyal to him no matter what. But his drive to ruin our country will eventually come to impact even his most ardent of supporters, because at some point those from whom he insists on taking will eventually have nothing left to take. And when that happens, those to whom he has chosen to give, may become less than satisfied with him and begin to direct their support toward others who vow to continue to provide for them in the manner in which they have become accustomed.
Promises were made in the heat of the campaign, promises that disguised the radical nature of the candidate and that were not at all conducive to the maintaining of our rich heritage of freedom, liberty or the maintaining of our economic system that is the envy of the world. And yet many, whom I would suppose love their country, decided that it would be in the best interest of all if this man were to be elected into the position of being our president. Throughout his presidential campaign, and many times since being elected, he has continued to make the promise that for those of us who make less than $250k, we would not see our taxes go up, “Not one dime.” Well, it would appear that our Prince of Darkness might now be changing his mind. He now says that he is "agnostic" when it comes to the idea of raising of taxes on Americans who make less than $250k because we need to bring down the deficit. A deficit that he is mainly responsible for putting through the roof after a series of outrageously expensive and thoroughly wasteful pieces of legislation. Shouldn't he have made sure he had the money "before" he decided to spend it? It would seem that he has had his own "read my lips" moment. It was also during his campaign that, this man, this Prince of Darkness saw Americans, and I imagine continues to see them in much the same light, as being nothing more than greedy and selfish. He accused us of being a small percentage of the World's population guilty of consuming much more than our fair share of the World's resources. He fails to take proper note of, or simply seems to be content to remain blissfully ignorant of, the fact that this country is made up of the most giving people in the history of the World. We are a people who willingly give not only their money but make available to all, every one of the great discoveries made by the people of this great country. We didn't keep everything to ourselves, and the World is a much better place because of this country. Were it not for us, the rest of the World would not have progressed much further than 1800s. Granted we have had our share of stumbles along the way throughout our history, but when we recognized them for what they were we were quick to set things right, and much faster than any other nation on Earth. Our faults have been few and where and when they occurred it was because of men, men who thought they were better than others, knew more than others or simply who had more money than others. They were able to convince enough to listen to them because they, and they alone, were to be judged as being right. We hear from that same type of men today, some in government and some not, but one thing is for sure, none have what is best for this country as being near and dear to their hearts.
In recent years we have allowed ourselves to fall victim to the pointless protocol of political correctness, and to allowing what the Founders intended for us to be completely turned on its head. Thought must be now controlled, language has been mangled to the point of being nearly incoherent, with nothing meaning what it once did. Such things are called progressive, but I see them as being just the opposite. Sometimes I think we have arrived in George Orwell's 1984, with the government desiring the assuming and maintaining of control over every single aspect of our lives from the moment we are born to that time when we take our last breath. Now while he tried very little to hide what it was that he intended for us should he be victorious, this Prince also, through the expert telling of lies, made himself out to be less of the radical that he was portrayed as being by his opponent in the contest. Sadly, over time we have learned that we ignored the truth and bought into his lies. Lies that have resulted in our country being brought to the brink of financial and economic collapse by those who were entrusted by the people to be the caretakers of freedom, but who turned out instead, to be its undertakers. Undertakers working hard to bury the freedoms enjoyed in this country for which so many brave men and women have fought and died to protect.
So, I now go back to where it was that I started this little conversation, the time between now and 2012. If we are to salvage what is left of our country, and get it back on the path to prosperity we can ill afford to listen to men, and women, of the same political persuasion as this Prince of Darkness. They can no longer be trusted anymore than can the Prince himself. We must find those whom we can trust to defend our Constitution as written and who can articulate the importance of individual responsibility as well as self-reliance and how it is not the job of the government to do those things that we should be doing for ourselves. It must be understood that laziness on the part of an individual does not then require the rest of us, through government social programs, to pick up the slack. We are a nation of individuals, not some insane collective for the subsidizing of bad behavior. While I am willing to assist my fellow man however and whenever I can, I am not, and I refuse to be, my brother’s keeper. There are certain things that my "brother" should be expected to do for himself, or for that matter, herself. We all make choices throughout our lives, some good and some bad. And it is the end product of those choices, when placed together, that form what becomes the net result of our life. The very plain truth of the matter is that wherever we end up at the end of our lives is directly related to the decisions and choices we have made along the way. No one is responsible for the bad choices or decisions except the individual who makes them. If we choose to live in poverty, so be it, we have made a conscious decision to so and to not work to better ourselves. If because of some character flaw, individuals refuse to put themselves in a position to take advantage of available opportunities to improve their position in life, I have no sympathy for them. No one can, nor can any government, instill in us a desire for self-improvement or personal responsibility, it comes from within. There is no other country on the face of the planet where the opportunities available to all are so numerous and that with a little hard work, are so easy to attain. The stigma that was once attached to the accepting of handouts from the government, whether at the local level or national level, has long since evaporated. It has now gotten to the point where the mere mention of any requirement to "earn" that which is being provided "free of charge" from the government has become considered on par with being called racist. After years of blatant indoctrination at the hands of government controlled public education, it has become something considered to be as accepted behavior, behavior that is more often than not, actively encouraged by liberals. Their philosophy is, that if we are ever to find ourselves as being unable to provide for ourselves, the government will be standing at the ready, as it should be, to step in at a moments notice to take care of our every need. And we're told that we should feel no shame or embarrassment in that fact, because it is not our fault. The whole notion that the government, through the use of taxpayer supplied funds, should somehow become the safety net for all things ranging from bad personal and business decisions to individual laziness and bad personal habits, is what has led us to the financial meltdown that we're still trying to crawl out from under, no thanks to our Prince of Darkness.
I think now that after hearing all he promised over the course of his entire campaign, coupled with all he has promised over the course of the last 13 months, it is very safe to say that his words no longer carry any weight, with a substantial portion of the American people. They are now seen as being just words strung together, devoid of any meaning whatsoever, and simply read from his teleprompter. Now they may be stated ever so eloquently, but they mean absolutely nothing. More often than not, no matter what the subject he may be talking about, whatever comes out of his mouth is nothing more than a lie. It's like he can't help himself, he just makes things up and has the audacity to get miffed when he gets called on it, which I must admit is a rare event in the mainstream media. He has yet to learn that a lie, no matter how sincere it may sound, is still a lie. Maybe it's different in Chicago, but somebody needs to tell him, he ain't in Chicago anymore. It is because of his ulterior motives and thug tactics that he has now made our current fiscal and economic situation so much worse. And one cannot help but wonder if it that was by design. Let's face it, it makes the advancing of his Marxist agenda all the more easy to accomplish when he can bring about the required scenario where more Americans are without jobs, and with the loss of their jobs they are now losing their homes and can no longer provide for the healthcare they may have had while they remained employed. It would seem like all part of some dark and sinister master plan, the source of which would be our very own Prince of Darkness, Barry "almighty". He is following in the footsteps of those he, and many in his administration have mentioned as being individuals whom they admire. Men with names like Marx, Mao and to those here in American with names like Alinsky. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that what he is so busy trying to bring about has been tried before and on numerous occasions. And no matter how many times it has been tried, or where it has been tried, it has never met with any degree of success except among the wealthy elitists.

I heard a song recently on a country station that I sometimes listen to, the title was, “You’ve got to stand for something, or you’ll fall for anything.” And I thought if only more people chose to follow that simple advice. To see those who do go to www.werewatchingyou.net

Republicans should not be afraid to say, “NO!”

So, here we sit, roughly one year after the coronation of our beloved Supreme Leader, Barry “Almighty”. And since that glorious day of January 20, 2009 that was filled with so much empty and nonsensical rhetoric, we are no further along in fixing our economy nor are we any further ahead in the War on Terror, that “Overseas Contingency Operation” as it is now so fondly referred to by Barry, than we were on his first day in the Oval Office. We are also no further ahead in squelching Iran's attempts at going nuclear, no further ahead in accomplishing any realistic or meaningful healthcare reform, no closer to becoming energy independent, frankly we're no further ahead in any meaningful way than we were before our present fearless leader assumed the reigns of power. If anything, I’d say we're considerably behinder, with us now finding ourselves dead broke and up to our eyeballs in massive debt and in pretty much record time even for Liberal Democrats. It’s really quite amazing though, that even after the Democrats have been in complete control of Congress now for roughly 3 years and the White House for a little over one that still the fault for us being no further ahead, remains solely the fault of George Bush and the Republicans. Pretty pathetic, don’t you think? And now with the election of Scott Brown in Massachusetts, suddenly Barry wants to call the Republicans over for a beer and to discuss a bipartisan approach to healthcare “reform”. How magnanimous! Well, if I was Mitch McConnell or John Boehner I'd be telling ol Barry “Almighty” to go pound sand, to not pass go and to not collect 200 dollars. That unless he is now willing to start his whole idea of healthcare “reform” from scratch, then he can simply forget about it. And if he is not prepared to do just that, then he can continue as he has been doing for the last year, with him discussing healthcare “reform” with no one else but Harry, Nancy and the Democrats and then let's just see how far he continues to get. He seems very intent on calling Republicans the Party of “NO”, but I think it is more than just a little hypocritical of Barry, especially when it's own Party that has been the "Party of No", at least regarding his grandiose plans for healthcare "reform". Now I do have a question: Given the huge majorities currently held by the Democrats in both Houses of Congress, why does Barry actually care about getting any Republican votes for anything? I also have an answer: He doesn’t, because it’s not about the gaining of Republican votes or even their support. What it is all about is the creating of an ability to make the claim, at some later date, like maybe November, that his Socialist agenda is supported equally by both political parties. Look, it's only been after he lost his "Super-majority" that he now wants to talk with the Republicans and before the cameras of C-Span no less. The question is, will the Republicans take part in this dog and pony show, buying into it by falling for this little ploy being perpetrated by Barry? What Barry is trying to pull off here is nothing more than a pure diversionary tactic with him hoping to be able to create an opportunity that will allow him to maneuver Republicans into a position where he can then collect specific Republican sound-bites to be played ad nauseam by his friends in the mainstream media. Sound-bites that can be manipulated in such a way as to portray Republicans as being nothing more than stubbornly partisan obstructionists. The Republicans simply cannot afford to be taken in by any cockamamie scheme dreamed up by Barry and instead of fearing being labeled as the party of "no" they should wear it as a badge of honor because in this specific intense, that's exactly what it is. Because what they are saying no to, quite literally, is the allowing of the Democrats to complete their attempts at the wholesale destruction of our country. The Republicans must not allow themselves to be manipulated into a position where they fall victim to what amounts to as nothing more than another example of the pure and unadulterated arrogance of Barry "Almighty". This rapid movement to the left that Barry has now embarked us upon leaves Republicans with no other option than but to say no, loudly, proudly and repeatedly. The time has come for somebody to be the adult supervision in the room and to start saying no because that is exactly what is needed and needed now. Republicans must say no! No to more bailouts, no to higher taxes, no to healthcare "reform" as it has currently been designed by the Democrats, no to the mollycoddling of terrorists, no to cap and trade legislation, no to wasteful spending that increases the deficit, no to cuts in defense spending and no to Socialism on any level and in its entirety as conceived by our fearless leader.
Republicans should have no trouble whatsoever with being able to look at themselves in the mirror as long as they remain steadfast to the guiding principles that made this country great. And they must remain faithful in their efforts to put the country first and to not allow themselves to be used by Barry in any manner that allows him to create the veneer of bipartisanship in the advancing of his Statist agenda. The whole idea that Barry is the least bit interested in accomplishing anything that even remotely resembles true bipartisanship is nothing more than some sort of sick and twisted joke. His idea of bipartisanship is nothing short of the complete capitulation and unconditional surrender by the Republicans. He is like a thief in the night and his only motive for wanting to now include Republicans in his little endeavor is to create some cover for himself and to avoid whatever blame that may result from that which he is so determined to bring about. To Barry, the completion of his vision for a "new" America is paramount and he is like some vampire, dedicated to sucking the life blood from our country, in his need to avoid the light of day in seeing it through to fruition. He sees his only chance for achieving success as being in his ability to slip the ugly truth of his agenda past the American people by keeping it well below their radar and buried in the dark of night. It's all about deception, distraction and dishonesty. Hope and change is nothing more than fraudulent drivel, a cute little motto describing what is nothing more than a very well executed con job perpetrated by an exceptionally skilled flimflam man with a teleprompter. We're supposed to think that he is the equivalent of the "great and powerful oz" but he's nothing more than a pathetic fraud standing behind a curtain. There is absolutely no need for Congressional Republicans to shy away from taking a very firm stance against the coming to any sort of agreement with the man who would like nothing more than to destroy all that this country is. They must be willing and very committed to the using of necessary tactics to effectively paint, and in the starkest of terms possible, the differences between themselves and Barry and his League of Extraordinary Crooks. Come election time there must remain no doubt in the minds of the voters regarding who it is that has the best interests of the American people at heart. The voters must have a very clear picture in their minds when they walk into that voting booth regarding which political party advocates policies that will have the greatest chance of creating the type of opportunities which will bring about the brightest future for not only themselves, but their children and grand-children. People must decide whether they wish to be burdened with exorbitant taxes, faced with continuing high gas and grocery prices, government run healthcare, forced to drive only what the government says they can drive, only attend those schools dictated by the government and much, much more. They need to consider which political party it is that will encourage the necessary conditions that will foster an environment that is conducive to the permitting of everyone to make whatever they wish out of their lives. The choice should be an easy one. The oppressiveness of what liberal Democrats want to bring about as our future, or the encouraging of freedom in all manner possible which the Republicans should be seen as striving for?

Stinky, Stinky, Stinky ... Barry, Barry, Barry

I have a question that I would like to ask all those who can still manage to find it within themselves to think that what is going on in Washington today is what's best for our country. Does it sound like a intelligent idea that we should allow our government, or any of the bureaucrats who make up our government, to intrude so deeply into our lives as to be able to dictate to us what we "must" do to make our home more environmentally friendly right down to the type of light bulbs we use, what kind of car we can drive in order to "protect" the environment, how much we should pay for our house, what sort of employment opportunities are to be made available to us, how much money we will be permitted to "earn", what doctor we may see, what sort of treatment that doctor may recommend to us or any number of other important issues that effect our lives as well as the lives of every member of our family every single day? Does that sound like “Hope and Change” or “Change we can believe in”, to anyone? If your answer is yes, well then, I have some additional questions for you. What is it that might have occurred in your life, to make you think that way? What makes you think that any of those who just happen to be one of the now 2.15 million government employees, are anymore knowledgeable or more experienced in any area involved that they should now be permitted to make all of the important decisions affecting your life? I'm sure that at some point or another in everyone's lives they have stopped by a US Post Office or a DMV office and watched, while being in a state of mild amazement, the shear robotic and mindless behavior exhibited by those government employees for hours at a time. I say hours because when dealing with either of these government institutions in an effort to complete, even the most simplest of tasks, it usually takes that long. Have we, as individuals who have been blessed with the opportunity to live in the freest country on the planet, allowed ourselves to become so convinced that we are somehow now incapable of making any of the decisions that effect how it is that we wish to go about the living of our lives? Are we now to believe that simply because someone works for the government that they know more about how we should live than we do ourselves? Do we really believe that they are here to help us?
To make it possible for us to find ourselves at this particular spot, certain changes have been occurring over time, changes that were incremental in nature and barely noticeable at the time they were taking place. Its like when you spend a great deal of time in a room where there’s an odd smell, a smell you may not even notice until you have left the room and returned a short while later. And you then find yourself wondering why you didn't notice it sooner. Well, what we have today emanating from our nation's capital is the foulest of stenches that has finally reached the point where it is now starting to be noticed by many, but not nearly enough. We have done the equivalent of walking out of the room and have now come back in and are asking ourselves how could we have possibly missed such a raunchy smell? It's only because it has been slowly creeping up on us to the point where now, at least some of us, can no longer ignore it. I saw an interesting bumper sticker the other day that caused both my daughter and I to chuckle, it read "BO Stinks" with the letter "O" being Barry's cute little symbol. That bumper sticker summed it all up pretty well. Because what Barry is trying to do to our country has caused such a stink, that every freedom loving American should be up in arms. It is the stink of corruption, of arrogance and of our freedom and liberty slowly dying. But there still seems to be many who stubbornly refuse to acknowledge the odor and instead of complaining about the smell they, instead, choose to ignore it while excepting payment to go about their daily business as if there is absolutely nothing wrong. They go about walking among us and are paid quite handsomely to either claim to love the smell or to pretend that there is really no smell at all. Smell, what smell, I don’t smell anything! They eagerly make their claims about how wonderful every thing smells and in return for their efforts they are provided with a nice fat check from the very ones who are so very busy creating the noxious smell that is being so enthusiastically ignored. And, by chance, should the smell actually overtake any of these “deniers”, well then, those of us who have been complaining about the odor all along, are then forced to foot the bill to get them back on their feet. Of course though, once they do get back on their feet the first thing that they happily do is to make the claim that whatever the terrible cause might have been for the condition that befell them, it most certainly was not from some nonexistent smell.
So here's to at least hoping that a sufficient number of fumigators will come sweeping into Washington come this November. Because with each passing day, the stench becomes just a bit more overpowering, and I fear that before too long it will become unbearable and the damage done will become irreparable. If there is to be any hope of ever bringing about the necessary change in order to turn things around, enough people will need to come to their senses and recognize that the direction in which we are currently headed is likely to lead to a very bad end. Barry has set about leading us straight toward a destination where the people of this country will come to face some petty ugly consequences. The tactics Barry has chosen to employ to get us to where it is he wishes us to go, are very similar to those that are faced by lab rats that find themselves being exposed to an ever increasing amount of toxic fumes by those who wish to see how they are effected, sometimes even resulting in the death of the rats. If we remain exposed to the poisonous vapors emanating from the Democrats in Congress and the White House long enough, we just may get to the point where our freedoms suffer the same fate as those rats. Eventually any memory whatsoever of what this country was like before their toxic influence, will be lost forever. As we speak, our young children growing up today are already being exposed on a daily basis to influences that are potentially lethal to the future of our freedoms. Liberal zealots are performing as teachers, when in truth they are nothing more than the equivalent of mad scientists creating and conducting their own little rat experiments in what used to be called classrooms. But no more, those days are long gone. The reality of what it is that is going on today in our public school system is somewhere between horrendous and catastrophic, so it is no wonder that what is being produced by this very poorly run government institution, are individuals who will have a natural propensity to be in favor of their lives being managed by any number of other government institutions. Such is the hope of those who make up the Liberal, or Progressive as they like to be called, Democrat Party. That's why it is so crucial to our very survival as a free people that we do all we can to counter current efforts that can only be seen as an organized and very well orchestrated assault. An assault that is being energetically waged in an effort to effectively obliterate any sense of patriotism and individualism wherever it can be identified. To these people, the notion of American uniqueness or of America being the “Last best hope of Earth” must be ridiculed at every opportunity and cast aside as being nothing more than just one more flagrant example of American arrogance. The liberals in government, from the White House on down, see as priority number one the implementing of policies designed to bring about and/or to ingrain into the population, a certain sense of blind obedience to the government. They wish to encourage character modification, of a sort, by any method available, therefore improving their odds of achieving the end result with the recipients of their brainwashing becoming, and remaining, totally subservient to the all-knowing and all caring State.

2012, Will we make until then?

Over the course of the last year or so, longer if I'm being honest, I've had an increasing sense of foreboding slowly working its way over me. It's an overwhelming feeling of impending doom that I've been unable to shake and that has become progressively worse ever since I heard Barry's state of the union address. From day one, nothing that I have heard come out of the mouth of this guy instills one ounce of confidence in me that his motives are anything other than highly dubious and very suspicious. He continues to work ever so diligently toward the creating of new and inventive methods that allow for the furthering of his personal quest. A quest to energetically bring about an increasing number of opportunities that will in the end allow the government to tighten its grip over my, and everybody else's, life.
Barry has now sent to Congress an outrageous $3.83 trillion budget for 2011 which he claims is intended to pour much needed money into his fight against high unemployment, will boost taxes on the wealthy and, he says, "freezes" spending on many government programs. If this abomination is accepted as is, the deficit created for this year alone will surge to a mind numbing $1.56 trillion, easily eclipsing last year's record busting $1.41 trillion gap. And I have to ask, what’s the point? The fact of the matter is that the deficit “will” remain above the $1 trillion mark in 2011 even though Barry’s has proposed a three-year budget "freeze" supposedly effecting a variety of programs that fall outside of the military and homeland security. Barry’s planned tax increases for energy producers and families making more than $250,000, will, in fact, come to effect many who earn far less than that amount. The Barry administration projects, through the utilization of some uniquely fuzzy math, that these tax increases will raise $678 billion over the next decade. Most agree that that is a very optimistic assumption on the part of Barry and one that is based on nothing more than just a little wishful thinking. In other words, it ain’t gonna happen folks. It’s a LIE! The new Barry budget will also include a proposal to levy a fee on all those evil banks to raise an estimated $90 billion to recover losses from the government's $700 billion financial rescue fund. There’s just one thing, those losses aren’t expected to come from the bank bailouts but from the support extended to General Motors and Chrysler and insurance giant American International Group as well as help provided to homeowners struggling to avoid foreclosures.
Continuing with his rhetoric first spewed in his rambling State of the Union regarding his seriousness in making job creation his top priority, Barry has included $100 billion in his budget for jobs. He says that it is a plan to provide $5000 tax breaks to businesses for each new worker hired and will therefore encourage those businesses to boost hiring. Oh really? I find it pretty hard to believe that when you consider the amount of money that is required to higher a new employee, between wages and benefits, that a measly $5000 is going to mean very much. Barry claims that his jobs measure will also create more "shovel ready" government spending on infrastructure and energy projects. But realistically speaking, how long will those jobs last? Barry’s supposed job proposals would push government spending in 2010 to an incredible $3.72 trillion, that’s up a whopping 5.7 percent from last year. Barry’s blueprint for continuing our financial Armageddon continues into the 2011 budget year goes even farther and will increase spending further to $3.83 trillion, 3 percent higher than projected for this year. And still he continues to feel the need to blame Bush for exorbitant deficits? "Having steered the economy back from the brink of a depression, the administration is committed to moving the nation from a recession to recovery by sparking job creation to get millions of Americans back to work," the administration said in a statement accompanying its budget. What a bunch of BS. Ask any sane economist if this is how anyone with even an ounce of understanding regarding economic policies would go about trying to "steer the economy back from the brink of a depression" and they'll laugh right in your face and offer no apologies for doing so. The intent here by Barry and the Democrats is not to fix the economy, but to drive it as deeply and as quickly as possible into the nearest ditch.
Barry has now called on Congress to expedite action on his budget in order to speed relief to those millions who have been left unemployed thus far by what he is continuing to call the worst recession since the 1930s. However, that description is nothing if not an unmitigated lie that he has continued to spend a great deal of his time perpetuating. But its one that can very easily be discredited by looking back no further than the abysmal Carter presidency with its double digit inflation, interest rates and unemployment. And what brought us back from the brink brought about by Carter? The Reagan tax cuts, that's what! Certainly not the rampant, out of control government spending as is being done now. It is an economic impossibility to spend oneself out of a recession and Barry's methods clearly reveal that he has no intention of trying to cure our present economic woes, only his determination to make them worse. After a year long protracted and continuing battle on supposed health care “reform”, that was and very much remains so, an extreme waste of time, was nothing more than just one more example coming from this administration’s misplaced priorities. It was time spent on nothing more than an effort designed to accomplish that which Democrats have been salivating over since FDR, the governmental takeover of our entire healthcare system. It was a battle that literally consumed Barry’s first year in office and has revealed the length to which the Democrats will go, even though it may lead to a string of Democratic election defeats, and still remain undeterred. Now, the administration hopes that it can use this new budget and talk of deficit reduction as a misdirection play in an act that is nothing more than an attempt to deceive and distract the American people. It is an attempt to fool them into thinking that Barry has dropped his attempt to seize our healthcare and is now, instead, focused on “fixing” our economy. But it is all nothing more than a smokescreen employed to disguise efforts to still pass the Democrats’ highly sought after power-grab, and to finally complete their attempt to seize control of our healthcare system by the government. As evidence that he has not yet given up on his endeavor, Barry's latest budget continues with recommendations for “reform” of the nation's health care system. Barry has not been deterred in the least for achieving this goal even though prospects for passage of a final bill have darkened some, given the loss of a Democratic Senate seat in Massachusetts in a recent special election. Thankfully, the loss of that very critical Senate seat has deprived Barry and his party of the votes needed to break a Republican filibuster. But it hasn’t stopped them from trying. So says Presidential propagandist, Robert "THE MORON" Gibbs, who insisted Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union" that the push for healthcare “reform” is "still inside the 5-yard line" but Senate Republican leader Mitch Mcconnell, who I refuse to have much faith in these days, said with a public that is overwhelmingly against the bill and the administration should just "put it on the shelf, go back and start over." Also included in Barry’s budget is a projected gain of $640 billion in revenue from Cap and Trade legislation that is yet to be passed.
With Barry enthusiastically forcing us on our current direction, the question remains, will America last until 2012, or worse still, or even to November of this year for that matter? Each and every day I read about, hear about or see on television one more example of how it is that Barry "Almighty" is driving us just a little farther into the ditch than we were the day before. I can’t figure out whether his behavior is born out of recklessness, stupidity, naïveté, his socialist beliefs, or what? And along the way Barry seems to be perfectly comfortable, and quite determined, to disguise his efforts by placing as much blame as possible for what he has been “forced” to do, onto Bush. IT’S BUSH’S FAULT! But in this case, truth is stranger than the fiction that Barry is busy propagating. Because you see, in the 12 years that the Republicans were in control of Congress the average deficit was around 400 billion dollars per year. Granted that's not good but it pales in comparison to 1.1 trillion-dollar average over the last 3 years of the Democrats being in control of Congress. Barry is now busy talking about our present huge deficits as if he has had absolutely nothing to do with creating them. As most of us know, that’s a claim that’s very easy to disprove. As part of his propaganda he has put out some pretty ridiculous rhetoric regarding his highly touted "spending freeze" as being a useful tool for deficit reduction in a bow to worries regarding soaring deficits that he himself is responsible for creating. There are just a few little things wrong with notion however. This mythical freeze that Barry likes to talk so much about lately, is nothing more than a sham, because it effects only 1/8 of the total budget, and then only in areas where funding has already been jacked up to astronomical amounts. So the whole thing is nothing more than just one more attempt to deceive the American people, to con them into believing that he is working to lower the budget deficit. That same deficit he himself, and not Bush, has been instrumental in not only in creating but working to take to all new levels. If you can believe Barry’s rhetoric, $250 billion over the next decade will be “saved” by following the spending freeze with caps that would keep increases after 2013 from rising faster than inflation. Right! And every time I hear him talk about reducing the deficit I want to scream. He's the one who is responsible for ballooning the deficit to nearly Biblical proportions and all he can continue to do is to blame Bush. Granted, there were numerous issues where I was not in agreement with Bush and I could be wrong here, but a contributing factor to the Bush deficit, other than that stupid prescription drug plan, was the War on Terror. Barry has taken spending to a whole new level and what has he gotten in return, 10.2 percent unemployment, 17 percent in real numbers, foreclosures happening at the speed of light, bank closures happening nearly as fast and list goes on! Is he a moron, or is his goal the bringing about of the complete financial collapse of this country? Does he want to be the leader of a Third World country so badly that he's out to turn us into one? Our government, I think it safe to say, is now quite literally out of control. Anyone with any amount of sanity has left the building. Our nation's capital is now literally chalk full of crooks who care very little for both their country as well as those who comprise its population. And our president is no better than the worst of those who comprise our government's legislative branch. It would seem that most have lost all sense of why it is they were elected to their current positions. They feel that they should not be held to account for any of their behavior no matter how corrupt or dishonest it may be. They have come to rely on the notoriously short memory of the electorate to the point where they now think they can anything they wish and while remaining able to escape any retribution whatsoever. Well my friends, we have reached that point in time where retribution must now be enthusiastically administered to all those who refuse to listen to we the people.

In the 2010 budget tabled by President Barack Obama on Monday, the White House wants to let billions of dollars in tax breaks expire by the end of the year -- effectively a tax hike by stealth. While the administration is focusing its proposal on eliminating tax breaks for individuals who earn $250,000 a year or more, middle-class families will face a slew of these backdoor increases. The targeted tax provisions were enacted under the Bush administration's Economic Growth and Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2001. Among other things, the law lowered individual tax rates, slashed taxes on capital gains and dividends, and steadily scaled back the estate tax to zero in 2010. If the provisions are allowed to expire on December 31, the top-tier personal income tax rate will rise to 39.6 percent from 35 percent. But lower-income families will pay more as well: the 25 percent tax bracket will revert back to 28 percent; the 2percent bracket will increase to 31 percent; and the 33 percent bracket will increase to 36 percent. The special 10 percent bracket is eliminated. Investors will pay more on their earnings next year as well, with the tax on dividends jumping to 39.6 percent from 15 percent and the capital-gains tax increasing to 20 percent from 15 percent. The estate tax is eliminated this year, but it will return in 2011 -- though there has been talk about reinstating the death tax sooner. Millions of middle-class households already may be facing higher taxes in 2010 because Congress has failed to extend tax breaks that expired on January 1, most notably a "patch" that limited the impact of the alternative minimum tax. The AMT, initially designed to prevent the very rich from avoiding income taxes, was never indexed for inflation. Now the tax is affecting millions of middle-income households, but lawmakers have been reluctant to repeal it because it has become a key source of revenue. Without annual legislation to renew the patch this year, the AMT could affect an estimated 25 million taxpayers with incomes as low as $33,750 (or $45,000 for joint filers). Even if the patch is extended to last year's levels, the tax will hit American families that can hardly be considered wealthy -- the AMT exemption for 2009 was $46,700 for singles and $70,950 for married couples filing jointly.
Middle-class families also will find fewer tax breaks available to them in 2010 if other popular tax provisions are allowed to expire. Among them:
 Taxpayers who itemize will lose the option to deduct state sales-tax payments instead of state and local income taxes;
 The $250 teacher tax credit for classroom supplies;
 The tax deduction for up to $4,000 of college tuition and expenses;
 Individuals who don't itemize will no longer be able to increase their standard deduction by up to $1,000 for property taxes paid;
 The first $2,400 of unemployment benefits are taxable, in 2009 that amount was tax-free.”

One last little thing worth noting can found on page 9 of Barry’s budget proposal, where we find that, interestingly enough, the White House is now admitting this factoid. It’s official, if you are still unemployed, it is by government design.

Here’s what Barry writes,
“All told, as of the end of November 2009, about 50 percent of Recovery Act funds—or $395 billion—has been either obligated or is providing assistance directly to Americans in the form of tax relief. By design, the bulk of the remaining 50 percent of Recovery Act funds will be deployed in the coming months of 2010 and during the beginning of 2011 to support additional job creation when our economy continues to need a boost. Many of the programs slated to receive additional funding in the near future are those with significant promise of job creation. These include more than $7 billion in broadband expansion, approximately $8 billion in funds to lay the foundation for a high-speed rail network, and continued funding for other transportation projects. All told, the Recovery Act is on track to meet the goal of disbursing 70 percent of its funds in the first 18 months of its life.”
So says our Supreme Leader, Barry “Almighty”. Hey, how’s that “Hope and Change” workin for ya?
