Well my friends, the clock is slowly ticking down to that point in time where we will all, at least those of us care to vote, be called upon to make a decision. Quite possibly, the most important decision of our lives and one that carries with it severe consequences, even penalties, should we arrive at the wrong conclusion. What we are all now taking part in is a countdown, of sorts, that will culminate in one of two things being determined. Either we will continue on our present march toward the complete "remaking" of America, possibly altering forever what it will become from this point on. Or, we will decide to begin that long, slow, and possibly even painful process to turn America back in the direction of sanity and toward all that America, and being American, has come to mean, up to this point. It may very well likely prove to be the last opportunity, at least for the foreseeable future, for those of us who voted for the "Hope and Change" candidate, to redeem ourselves, even if it's only by a little, in rectifying our error. After all, we have all now had the opportunity to see exactly what it was that was meant by that catchy little bumper sticker phrase of, "Hope and Change." We should all now be fully aware, and there should be no excuses for not knowing that what was meant by it was nothing more than a warm and fuzzy way of saying, "Welcome to Socialism in America."
A great error in judgment was committed by a good many people last November 3. No matter how well intentioned, or even well thought out, their actions may have seemed to them at the time. And the result from that massive error was catastrophic and has left us, as a country, floundering economically, fiscally as well as internationally. To find even a spark of something positive, or a glimmer of hope, in this continuing saga of corruption and blatant abuse of power, is the equivalent of looking for that ever elusive needle in an incredibly vast haystack. And I’m not sure just how many Americans have fully figured that out even yet, and I’m sure there are those who either never will or will simply refuse to even try. Now I wish I could say that I was confident in the fact that enough people will have come to there senses by the time they are called upon to next vote, but again, my confidence in the American people to arrive at the correct decision has been severely shaken, to say the least. As I have said before, I have always considered myself to be a glass is half full kinda guy, despite that fact I have been scolded in the past, and on numerous occasions, for being a pessimist. But I do have to be honest with myself, and remain able to look at myself in the mirror, as frightening as that prospect can be. And right now I honestly am not sure in which direction the American people will choose to be lead. And, quite frankly, it scares the crap outta me.
I have never been one to put much faith in polls, because essentially whoever is conducting whatever poll can always manipulate it in such a manner as to get the desired result(s) they're looking for. As I have been told countless times and quite emphatically, the only poll that counts is the one held on Election Day. And unfortunately, due to the tactics often employed by those of the more liberal persuasion, there have been more than a few instances when even those results have been called into question and deservedly so. And because we now have, in this country, a "news" media that has worked very hard to lose whatever semblance of credibility it may have, at one point, ever had, it has now managed to put itself into the position of becoming so completely untrustworthy, Americans now feel compelled to actively search out for themselves reliable sources of information. All for no other reason than that most "journalists" in the mainstream, or state controlled, media have become essentially joined at the hip with their compatriots in the Democrat Party. To the point where more often that not all one ever hears is one specific point of view, that being the liberal one, and it is not always the most advantageous one for the country or the people.
Because of the present arrangement between the Democrats and today's media, and the fact that today's "journalists" have effectively ceased being the providers of truly unbiased or useful information, it is very easy for any opposing points of view to simply be, drowned out. Those looking for the conservative perspective regarding any specific issue are required to expend the necessary energy to seek it out for themselves, since that information is never forthcoming from any "news" source other than, perhaps, Fox News. In fact, the only reason for conservatives to spend any amount of time at all watching, listening or reading anything produced by today's "news" media outlets, is to stay abreast of what's being said about us. What names are we being called this week, what lies are being told that require a response, and on and on. These propagandists and smear merchants are now in business to accomplish one thing and one thing only, the slandering of conservatives and of the conservative agenda by any all means available. They see that as being the only hope they have in seeking to accomplish the making of the liberal options, at least seem to be, more palatable to the American people. Now I know our avenues for rebuttal are few and far between, but that should not mean that we should simply roll over and make no attempt whatsoever at defending ourselves. Those avenues that are available to us must be taken advantage of to the maximum extent and as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. And used not only to rebut what is being said, but to get our ideas out to the people, so they can better decide, for themselves, what they would like to see take place.
How well we conservatives do, or don't do, come this November, will be a direct reflection upon us, our candidates, our agenda and our ability to sufficiently articulate our plan for America to the American people. A plan, by the way, that does not include us moving ever closer to Barry’s brand of out and out socialism but in the other direction entirely. Now, achieving our desired objective of defeating liberal candidates will not only depend on our ability to successfully get our message out and in front of as many people as possible and by whatever means available, but it will also depend upon our ability to remain united. Because if we are to maintain any hope for a positive outcome, we cannot afford to allow ourselves to splinter into various factions or to divide our forces in any way. We must ask ourselves what are our priorities here, are we willing to take the risk and vote for third party candidates, and therefore possibly achieve nothing more than the guaranteeing of a successful outcome for our adversaries? We must remember the phrase, "United we stand, Divided we fall." It must be our battle cry.
