Unemployment checks, The fastest way to create jobs...HUH?

"Unemployment benefits are creating jobs faster than practically any other program", so says House Speaker Nancy "Botox" Pelosi. While talking to reporters, our esteemed House speaker was defending a jobless benefits extension against those who make the argument that it provides recipients very little incentive to actually go out in search of work. Using some rather unorthodox reasoning, she makes the claim that those checks are in reality helping to give somebody a job. "It injects demand into the economy," Ms. Pelosi said, arguing that when families have money to spend it keeps the economy churning. Sorry, I guess I hadn't yet realized that our economy was churning, I thought it was doing something that more closely resembles plunging into the abyss. Anyway, she went on to say, "It creates jobs faster than almost any other initiative you can name." Pelosi said the this type of aid has the "double benefit" of helping those who have lost their jobs as well as acting as a "job creator" on the side. "It's impossible to think of a situation where we would have a country that would say we're not going to have unemployment benefits," Pelosi said. I would ask Ms. Pelosi, why not? If unemployment benefits are going to be offered then they should be made available only for a definite period of time. It should be provided for a suitable period of time that affords the person who finds him or herself unemployed a period of time to look for another job. It should be for a period of months, not years. Let’s just call it, providing a little incentive.
Ok, now look, I freely admit that I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, but this kind of sheer nonsense advocated by the Speaker just doesn't compute for me, it doesn't make a lick of sense. If there is someone, anyone, out there who can enlighten me regarding the accuracy of the statements made by the Speaker, I would really appreciate it, because this sounds exactly like the same perverted "Progressive" logic that got us into this fiscal jam in the first place. The rationale behind even the making of such an idiotic statement, totally escapes me. It's nothing more than the purest form of Liberal lunacy to throw anything against the wall to see if it sticks. And it shows just how screwed up things have really gotten. Because when the Speaker of the House can stand in front of reporters and a television camera and say something this stupid, and with a straight face no less, or as straight as she can get it, convinced that she's making sense, then my friends, we have a much more serious problem than even I thought. Does it strike anyone other than myself that the reason that our country has gotten so far into the crapper in the first place is because of morons like this who have worked so hard to put us there? And so, it would appear we are but just one flush away with these pathetic pieces sh!t having one hand poised on the handle ready to enthusiastically perform that final flush? And what's really depressing is the fact that a lot of these flaming imbeciles will wind up getting reelected come this Fall because, as a nation, we've managed to morph away from a country with a proud heritage of rugged individualism, personal responsibility and uniqueness into something so far removed as to now make it totally unrecognizable. Many of us simply too stupid to see what it is that we have here and seem far too eager to just throw it all away. You know, you can tell a lot about people by the politicians they repeatedly elect and re-elect. Take Massachusetts for example. How many times did those folks re-elect that drunken slob of a lying pervert Ted Kennedy and how many times has John Kerry Heinz, who spent a fictionalized, and very brief, period of time in Vietnam, been re-elected? And then, of course, there is that "Gay Caballero", Bawney Fwank, on second thought let's not even go there, he's just too repulsive to even talk about. With them having repeatedly elect these lunatics, I think it very safe to say that the combined IQ of those who make up the general population of the "Bay State" would be very close to the largest shoe size that one could find there. And that's just one example, there are many, many more! Just look at any Blue state, they’re all the same. And there seems some evidence of an growing epidemic of sorts that has as its origin Washington D.C., and it is rapidly spreading all across this nation.
The truth of the matter is that our government is only going to be as good as we the people choose to make it. So, in effect, you could say that our economic situation, the poor response to the continuing oil spill in the Gulf, the outright seizure of our healthcare system as well as 2 car companies and a bunch of banks, is pretty much our own fault. After all, the bottom-line here is that we elected these crooks, so we really have no one to blame but ourselves. You could say we screwed up because trusted them, but with us screwing up so badly, that’s kind a lame excuse. Of course, if you happen to be of the opinion that these crooks happen to be doing exactly what you elected them to do, then I guess I would be questioning your sanity. So, for those us who did not elect them to take these sort of actions, the question that remains is, are we willing to accept the error of our ways and to now take the necessary and appropriate action to rectify it. Are we ready to work to remedy the situation this November by booting out as many of these hypocritical a**holes as possible. Or, will we simply revert to our old selves by taking the easy way out by re-electing them and to then spend the next two years bitching about them only to turn right around and re-elect them yet again. At some point the little light bulb will have to come on with us finally coming to the realization that we are never going to achieve a different outcome if we keep repeating the same mistakes. We're going to need to force ourselves to come the conclusion that we simply cannot go on like this because sooner or later we're all going to end up living on the streets watching Barry and the rest of his ilk drive by while they waving to us through the windows of their big, shiny limos. If we want to survive we're going need to raise our standards a bit regarding those who we wish to have representing us, because right now that bar is way, way too low. Even as I say that, I know there remains a segment of our voting population who, when choosing whom to vote for, cares very little about any qualifications their candidate may, or may not, actually possess, witness the election of Barry "Almighty." Their primary concern is one of where it is that the candidate stands on current government entitlement programs. Does he/she plan on pursuing attempts to increase or decrease funding or perhaps require a little work be performed in return for government handouts? This is what these folks see as being their single most critical issue. And to be the recipient of their vote, the candidate must be strongly in favor of both the continuing and the increasing the amount paid by way of these subsidies.
The present fiscal condition of our country and the crushing amount of debt that is rapidly being piled up, is of very little consequence to those who base their vote solely on they're being given some guarantee that their gravy train will continue to go chugging along totally unimpeded. And if the taxes of others will be required to go up to cover the exorbitant cost, well then, so be it. These individuals see it as being not acceptable that the rest of us who subsidize their behavior, courtesy of our taxes, wish to do so for only a finite period of time. Those on the receiving endless welfare payments who continually cast themselves as being victims of society feel that those paying the bills have no right to make those payments contingent upon the beneficiaries working toward the goal of eventually being able to cover their own expenses. Doing so by actually finding a "job" and going to "work." Heavens NO! Look, thanks to their hero "Barry "Almighty" we are BROKE, DEAD BROKE! That these people just do not get that, clearly shows where their priorities are. Tax the rich makes for a nice little mantra, but for crying out loud, rich or not, how much money should someone be required to fork over to the government for no other reason than to continue to subsidize the shiftless and lazy among us. The situation in which these people find themselves is purely self-inflicted. Ultimatums are going to need to be given that no more free rides are going to be given. If you’re unwilling to be contributing member of society, then you’d better have a plan B. Because plan A will no longer consist of the raping of taxpayers to provide anyone with a check that enables to purchase their booze and drugs. Reasonable, rational and constructive reforms along with a realistic tax policy need to be enacted. And we all know that is not something that’s going to happen as long as the Democrats are running the show. We have to work our way back toward the direction that the Founders had intended for us. We have gotten ourselves so far off course and all at the hands of those who wish to move as far as possible away from that original design. If we are going to be serious about getting ourselves back on track our first opportunity will come this November. So, have we finally had enough of the continuing fiscal irresponsibility coming from Congress? While we’re saddled with Barry for at least another two years, we can make a fundamental change in the face of the House and Senate this fall. The question that needs to be answered is……will we?
